ProTek Aluminum Furnace, which enhances the safety and efficiency of the recycled aluminum casting process.

 

The project was initiated during the International Design Development Summits 2013 and was developed through a month-long participatory design process with the local foundries in Chazanga, Zambia. The project has continued after the summit and will be introduced to other parts of Africa.

 

The goal of the study was to co-create with the locals by using prototypes and to produce technologies that not only improve the quality of life but also offer opportunities for entrepreneurship.
